A Heartfelt Letter to My Son About Life on Earth

I’m a mum of a toddler, we are a family of 3… soon to be 4, and this is a letter to my son about life on Earth.

Deep down, I have always felt I meant to have another child, a boy. That feeling is not just a wish but what I owe to life.

Just when we are talking about having another child, my wish has been granted before we could even make up our minds. To my biggest surprise and joy, my baby boy is already en route to becoming the newest member of our family.

With much anticipation, he is due in a couple of weeks, and here I am, sharing with you all a heartfelt letter to my son.

This post is dedicated to all of you who may be going through the same stage of life as me.

Letter To My Son

Dear Bump,

I have waited more than a century for you. Welcome back to our family.

Before you take your first breath in this world, I want to brief you on the journey ahead. You’re born into an era of temptations, a generation of choices, and endless possibilities. It may be overwhelming at the beginning, but rest assured, you will find your path.

At times, you may wonder why your upbringing is different from your sister’s. That is because each of us is born with a purpose, and you have your unique purpose in life.

I wrote to your sister in her letter 3 years ago advising her to love herself. That’s the most important life skill she needs to master to support her family, collect fruits and distribute them to her heirs.

As for you, my son, the message I want to pass on is to free yourself. Free yourself from the mentality traps this society has brought upon us, free yourself so you can be the best hunter, build and lead your own tribe one day.

For this reason, you will not have an abundance of clothes and toys, nor will we send you to the most expensive schools. However, what you can expect from this family is lots of love, tears, freedom, support, and happiness.

We will equip you with all you need so you can be your best self, to unleash your potentials, and live the dream life you desire.

We will guide you and watch you make mistakes of all sizes in your early years, so you can learn to handle obstacles with bravery and courage in the future, with or without us by your side.

But don’t worry, son. The best gift you will receive when you come into this life is a blueprint. See, your father has transformed himself into an amazing protector in a short span of 3 years. He is a man I couldn’t be more proud of, and all you have to do is follow in his footsteps.

Oh, did I mention, the planet we live on is called Earth. It is so beautiful that it is beyond words. Life on Earth is as beautiful as you make it out to be. And together as a family, we will get to see as much of this planet as we could with the little time we have.

With anything and everything in this universe, there’s yin, and there’s yang. There are two sides of a coin, and you should be on neither of them.

Remember to always stand on the edge of a coin, only so you can gain a clear vision of both worlds to make the most appropriate decisions in life.

Keep in mind that the ultimate success in life is maintaining an optimum balance of time vs value. Because soon you will realise, there isn’t right or wrong, only perspectives. Together with your attitude of gratitude, your perspectives of life on Earth will make you who you are.

Last but not least, I hope you’re ready for some serious cuddles and kisses. Your sister has been practising hard, and she’s coming for you in full force. We can’t wait to meet you, little warrior!

Until then, please be gentle and don’t rip me up too much.

❤ xoxo
